You heard that correctly, folks. Extravaganzapaloozathon. It's a word I made up for this special occasion. I was rather bummed earlier this year when the Kickstarter for the first OWAZ book didn't pan out. It's good that it provides a safety net for the folks that are willing to pay ridiculous amounts to see something awesome come to life, but it left the amount of funds put forth for the book at a stifling total of $0. I decided that this simply would not do. I held off for a bit and allowed the fan base grow a bit, and now I feel ready for something like this.

This fundraiser is quite simple: Buy awesome stuff and have the money go to awesome things. As the picture illustrates, I will be selling a short run of Adventure Time acrylic necklaces. When I say short run, I mean that these will only be available for pre-order for four weeks and after that, they are gone. Starting today, December 21st and going until 11:59PM on January 18th, 2013, these six necklaces will be available for pre-order for $10 each, meaning that they will not ship until about two weeks after the pre-order ends. Again, once January 19th is upon us, these necklaces will NEVER be available for purchase again. These are limited-edition items and will not be re-printed once the sale ends. Also, I will not be selling them at cons. The four-week window we are currently in is your only opportunity to get one of these, so get them while you can.

As the picture also shows, the money you spend will be going to two homes. One is a savings account to put money away for the Otakuz With a Z Vol. 1 books. This isn't "pay my bills until I can someday afford the books" money, this is "to be used for the books and the books only" money. The other home to your funds will be my favorite charity, Child's Play. Child's Play provides toys and games to children's As you've no doubt seen in the comic newsposts lately, I've been plugging Child's Play quite a bit, and 50% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be going to Child's Play as a gift from the Otakuz With a Z fans.

Hello, all! I hope this entry finds you well. Just a few updates on my life, as the title suggests. First off, I finally graduated college! Hooray! It should come as no surprise, but I was majoring in graphic design. Let's see... Oh, my awesome comic, Otakuz With a Z, is nearing its 100th comic! Whoo! Bad news, everyone! I was denied my request off at work, so I am unable to attend Anime Crossroads next weekend. Nobody is more bummed out about this than me. I was really looking forward to seeing you all as well as my other amazing convention family members. However, if I were to miss work and go, I would end up losing my job, and that would threaten the possibility of future conventions. I'm really sorry to everyone who is going. I will find a way to make it up to you all. I'll provide you guys with some sort of sale or other awesome thing. Again, I feel just awful about this decision, especially since I had to make it on such short notice.  In better news, I am almost done with school! And that means I'll have more time to focus on comics, art, and conventions! If you guys want me at a particular con, send me a note and I'll check it out! Just keep in mind, I'm located in the midwest, so something thousands of miles away may be a bit difficult! XP

Hi, everyone! I hope you've been well. Anyway, and I have been working our butts off trying to get an official website for the comic strip live. However, we need some help financially, as all of our money is tied up in bills and school. We pitched our idea to Kickstarter to see if we could get some help there, but alas, they rejected our proposal. SO! We have decided to do this the old fashioned way and ask you folks for help. In order to help you all pry open your wallets, we will post the same rewards for donations that we would've had if Kickstarter accepted our proposal. Behold!

$1 – A thank you email to cherish forever and ever.
$5 – A thank you email to cherish forever and ever, as well as your name posted on the Awesome People page (a page on the website devoted solely to financial contributors) forever and ever.
$10 – A personalized sketch of you or someone else, done by me, plus the thank you email and spot on the Awesome People page.
$15 – A song in which Chad will beatbox your name whilst I come up with a riff in Garage Band (which will be sent to you as an mp3), plus the sketch, thank you email and Awesome Person page spot.
$20 – A video thank you that you may cherish forever in which Chad and I do a short silly skit or something of the sort, plus the spot on the awesome people page.
$25 – An appearance in the strip, plus the thank you email and spot on the Awesome People page.
$50 – An appearance in the strip plus a short story about how the donor is a complete and total badass, plus the email and Awesome Person page spot.
$100 – All of the above: comic strip appearance, short story, thank you video, beatbox song (plus mp3), personalized sketch, awesome person page spot, and thank you email.

The good thing about not using Kickstarter is that there is no limit to what you can donate now. We would've had to set up a cap, and if we didn't get enough donations in time, we'd get nothing at all and nobody would get their prizes. But by doing things this way, you are guaranteed your prize, plus you get it right away instead of having to wait (or potentially not get it at all). The old-school method also allows for usage of Paypal, which Kickstarter does not have. So spread the word and donate!

Hello, everyone! Hope you're all doing well! Well, I've finished up Anime Milwaukee, and once again, it was amazingly rad! They moved to the Hyatt Milwaukee this year, and I'm so glad they did! This con was way bigger than it was last year! And the artist alley & vendors were absolutely amazing. was there selling her crocheted hats and arm warmers and overall awesome things to keep you warm and fuzzy, was with me helping me sell and be awesome in general, was in the vendor area selling the cutest things you can imagine, and was there rocking the awesome Gary Oak cosplay, and we were all at my table making people lose the game!

Anime Central, one of my favorite conventions ever, filled up their Artist Alley in less than an hour of registration opening. X_X It's truly insane how quickly it all happened. Since I am on the wait list, there is no guarantee that I'll be attending ACen 2011. I know, it sucks, but rather than be a sad sack of sadness, I want all of YOU to tell me some conventions in the summer that you'd like to see me attend! (Keep in mind that I'm in the Midwest, so all those awesome west coast cons are out.)

Hello, everyone! Daisho Con Was AMAZING! Holy hell, did it rule! First off, I GOT ENGAGED! I proposed to on Thursday night, thus kicking off a fantastic weekend! Everyone at Daisho was absolutely amazing, from the staff to the vendors, and most importantly, the attendees! I can't think of a single thing at the convention that put a damper on things (aside from our room keys not working 15 minutes before we needed to check out. XD). Overall, it was a fantastic way to end my 2010 convention tour. You are all fantastic people, and if I got to meet you in person this year at a con or two, then thank you. You folks are what keeps me in this business and the reason I love doing art so much. I'll see you all in 2011!!!
